Friendly, welcoming hotel

This was our first time to Jersey and we couldn't have asked for a better hotel, don't let the fact that it is a three star hotel put you off, if it hadn't been for the previous reviews stating what an excellent hotel it was I wouldn't have booked it.

It is in an ideal situation, bus stop opposite the hotel and the travel is only £2.20p per ticket for a trip all over the island. Although we purchased a 7 day one, well worth the
£30. The beach although rocky in places is right outside the door and the views of the tide coming in and going out are fantastic.

There are rooms that have a sea view with balconies but we had a bedroom overlooking the garden and pool. The rooms were spotless and I truly mean that, room service was carried out every day.

The food was excellent with such a good choice of breakfasts and evening meals. Couldn't complain at £17.50 for an excellent 4 course menu which changed every day and on this 4 course menu there was plenty of choices. The plates were filled with food perhaps sometimes too much, but when on holiday who cares about the diet, and you do have the choice to say no.

Tony and his staff are great, always have a joke with the customers and so pleasant in whatever they are asked to do.

The owner pops in regularly to see how the staff are doing and is always around for a chat, such a friendly chap.

I think that in view that several of the guests we met come here year after year is a testimonial to this great little hotel. We for one will surely return next year.

Friendly hotel in great location

Not that many reviews given how popular this hotel is. Guess best keep it a bit quiet so we don't have a problem booking it again ! Basically it is a great seaside location, right on the impressive bay. Bus stops outside so frequent links into the hub where you can explore the island without driving, economically with a multi-day pass. Some call it 'dated' ? Well, yes, the decor is perhaps not all chrome, glass & minimalist. What it is in fact is immaculately decorated and spotlessly clean but of a style that you might have expected of a few years ago. This is it's charm of course being a traditional experience. Then all the facilities are there too. Really nice food of a simple style to suit the majority. No asking what this or that means. What we did notice that there was little fuss about your satisfaction. Nobody was bothering you every five minutes asking if you were happy with your meal. Basically it was served spot-on and if you had any issue then they were straight on it. Staff extremely friendly and entertaining. Niggles ?...the third floor plumbing was having a struggle and the over-bath shower was more of a casual dribble so washing your hair is a low-level affair. If you are a beer drinker then you may be a bit disappointed. 'Liberation' is definitely not to my taste. Another guest beer would have been appreciated. Otherwise a great break away. Thanks.
